Tournament Rules
RULES OF THE JONATHAN HILES 3on3 TOURNAMENT
Each game is 5 minutes non stop.
A foul committed is an automatic penalty shot. As soon as the penalty shot has been taken, play continues. The team awarded the penalty cannot touch the puck until the defending team has taken possession.
Players must retreat to around the halfway line when a goal has been scored. Failure to do so will result in the goal being disallowed.
Play starts as soon as the previous game ends. Any team not ready results in a 5-0 win for the opposition.
2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw in round 1
The least goals against will determine the higher placing if more than 1 team finish level on points.
A tie in the Round Two, Semi Final & Play Off games will result in a penalty shootout. 3 players from each team, followed by sudden death
The top 2 teams from each group based on their round 1 results progress to the semi Final stage.
Netminders cannot freeze the puck. They must release it before 10 seconds has passed. A penalty shot is awarded if they fail to release it.
RULES OF THE LEWIS FULLWOOD & OWEN PRICE TOURNAMENTS
1 - All Games to be played under FIRS rules (BIPHA RULEBOOK).
2 - The length of each game will be published in the schedule for each age group. All games will be running clock with no warm up. The tournament organisers reserve the right to alter the timings should this be deemed necessary.
3 - Only referees timeouts will be allowed.
4 - Should a disciplinary offence take place the Technical Director will endeavour to organise a disciplinary hearing within 15 minutes of the end of the game in which the offence was committed. The Disciplinary Committee will be chaired by the Technical Director and made up of Club Officials not connected with the incident.
5 - All sticks must be fitted with a butt end that will not pass through a face cage.
6 - All players must be registered with BIPHA. Proof of relevant age qualification may be requested.
7 - Any team found to be playing any players outside of the recognised age group will be excluded from the tournament and all points removed. There will be no refund of any fees paid.
8 - The age groups are Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Senior (Age groups same as 2008-2009 Season)
9 - All teams should supply one qualified referee and one timekeeper
10 - All players must be in possession of FULL kit.
11 - All junior teams will play round robin matches and Scoring will be 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. The number of points will determine the finishing places in the group.
The Senior Tournament will be played in two groups with teams progressing to the play off stages as determined by the schedule. If games are drawn two minutes of sudden death 2 on 2 will be played. If the Final is drawn penalty shots will be taken, (Two per team then sudden death) .
12 - Should any team be equal on points in the any group stage or round robin the final positions will be decided as follows. Firstly the team with the least goals against will be placed higher. Should the least goals against be equal, the team with the least Penalty minutes will be placed higher, Should the least goals against and penalty minutes be equal, penalty shots will be taken to decide the winner. (Two per team then sudden death) .
13 - Trophies will be presented on the day
14 - All participating teams should be present by the start of the previous game and be ready for a kit check
15 - The organisers reserve the right to amend or add to these rules should it be deemed necessary
16 - Should there be a clash of shirt colour which can not be easily separated it will be the responsibility of the away team to change their shirt.)
17 - All penalties will be served in FULL.
18 - The Tournament Organisers are from clubs in BIPHA SOUTH WALES.
