How many assists can be awarded for a goal?

Answer from The Technical Director

Although there is only one space on the official scoresheet for Assists, BIPHA Technical Director Allan Gall advised that if there is a slick move involving 3 players where the puck is passed tape to tape resulting in a goal, a double assist is to be awarded. This encourages players to play a passing game and not be greedy.

How do you calculate the Goals Against Average (GAA) in the Statsitics ?

Answer from The Statistics Officer
Although the Snapshot Software now does this automatically, When I started doing the stats in 2001 this proved to be quite a problem.
I eventually worked it out as follows. Total goals ÷ (Total minutes played ÷ Length of match in minutes)

What is the correct definition of a shot on goal ?

Answer from The Statistics Officer
This is another difficult one to define, but for the purposes of BIPHA South Wales netminder analysis, the following should be observed.
A shot on goal is a shot that would have entered the goal had the netminder not saved or deflected the shot.
Note #1: Shots that hit the post or crossbar must NOT be recorded as a shot on goal
Note #2: A shot by a team on their own goal must NOT be recorded as a shot on goal.
